On Monday 5 January, the Minerva Center for Human Rights at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, with the support of the European Union, will convene a high level conference to conclude a three-year project entitled “Enhancing the Role of Israeli Civil Society in the Internationalization of Israelis International Human Rights Commitments and in the Work of UN Treaty Monitoring Bodies”.

With special guests Prof. Yuval Shany (Dean of the Law Faculty, Hebrew University of Jerusalem), Prof. Sir Nigel Rodley (Chair, Human Rights Committee), Adv. Emi Palmor (Director-General, Ministry of Justice) and Ambassador Lars Faaborg-Andersen (EU Delegation), and together with representatives of leading Israeli Non-Governmental Organizations and academics, the Conference will review the project’s contribution for the internalization of Israel's international human rights commitments in national law and policy, and the improvement of interaction between civil society organizations and the Government of Israel in areas of human rights.
